Miss World is a unique contest and not simply a beauty competition.

Contestants must have a good figure, a beautiful face, grace, charm, deportment, good personality and ambassadorial qualities. These qualities are expected of a young woman who, if she wins the Miss World Title, is expected to travel the world as a glamorous personality of star quality.

Of equal importance, however, is the discipline she possesses. In other words the judges will be looking for a young lady who will be an example to young people, not only in making the best of her physical attributes, but also her talent, for this is the ingredient on which she will rely for her progress at the conclusion of her Year of Office.
